I still remember the internet before smart phones.
I remember my first cell phone.
Phones calls tho.
Texting was not something I was familiar with although I thought the concept was kinda cool.
I’d come home from work- after the cool thing of being able to talk to my mom in my car. How cool was that?
Them sit down at the computer. Open up email. They weren’t all spam then. But actually items I would read. Funnies from my mom. My uncle. Friends. Newsletters that I actually read and wanted. Stuff like that.
Then I’d open up Facebook and twitter .
Spend a bit of time reading stuff. Saying hi online to family and friends who lived far away—- was soooo cool
I’d upload pictures from my digital camera to the computer and then share on Facebook.
Then, after maybe an hour I’d most likely announce that I was getting off the computer for the night as a post

and then I’d turn off the computer. Go have a conversation. Watch tv. Crochet. Take a walk. Clean up the kitchen. Maybe go visit my mom.
And the computer would stay quiet usually until the next night after work.
My cell phone gave me a sense of security i guess. No more walking to a payphone if i had car trouble

but once home- people called me if they wanted to talk to me. Or i called them. On a landline. I sure was happy when caller ID became s thing tho. Hahaha
Just sharing thoughts.
I love technology tho. And to be able to talk to someone we care for immediately . Share photos or FaceTime immediately. I would have loved that when i was young, a new wife snd morher snd missing my mom and my grandmother so very much.
Mwybe it isnt the phone thats attachment. Or routine. Or around us a lot of the time.
Maybe it’s the people in it who are important to us and how we now communicate.
Just my thoughts .
