Weeks 7 and 8 - In the World - Not of the World

Week 7 & Week 8 of 2015

Being In the World....Not Of the World

These last several weeks for me have been filled with snow, winter weather, below zero temperatures, sleet, ice and wind.

I fight regularly against routines, but I have to face the fact that I do have some.

And they have all been upset by the weather.

Loss of work.  Loss of pay... Moving dogs around so they can all be in the house and warm.  Quick trips to the grocery store because it was just too awful cold to do a large grocery trip.

Keeping the house warm and keeping a check on the pipes.

Keeping in the back of my mind what plan of action we would take if we lost power like many people did.  It was so very cold.... I can't imagine.

So now, the weather is calling for more snow and cold temperatures later this week and weekend.

I am just putting that out of my mind for now.

Here's a few pictures....

His smile and his very presence blesses our entire family every moment of every day <3

I invite you to check out the eagle nest.   She has 2 eggs so far and they are expecting the third one shortly.   You do have to watch a short ad but it really is worth it.

Poetry - Past Present and Future

I wrote a few children's poems over the years.....sharing this one tonight
It is part of the Enchantment series.

Do You Believe

Do you believe
in princesses and magic fairies
Castles and unicorns
in places always merry

If you do
come along with me
We'll visit a place
full of joy and glee

Take hold of my hand
up, up we go
Far above the clouds
where the sun always glows

Can you see the castle
shimmering like cut glass
The flags waving boldly
high atop turrets of brass

We cross over the moat
and enter to see
A beautiful princess
and a delightful fairy

With a magical wand
and glittering gowns
Welcome hugs and smiles
come on....let's look around

The ceilings are high
the walls made of gold
Everything feels so warm
we could never be cold

Outside in the courtyard
a silver unicorn stands
Gently nibbling the grass
isn't he grand?

The castle is alive
with caring and love
The princess smiles gently
as she pets her white dove

We must say goodbye now
the fairy wishes us well
She waves her magic wand
and casts and enchanting spell

We've seen a great love there
and beauty and peace
We can go back anytime
as long as we believe.

My Meditation Stone has been the Tree Agate

Tree Agate is the common name for Dendritic Agate.

The Stone of Plenitude

Place one of these anywhere that you want to encourage abundance and fullness.
Some of the benefits of tree agate include:
  • Enhances the health of house plants
  • Creates a peaceful environment
  • Deepens your connection to the earth
Be patient when using dendritic agate. It works slowly and takes time to be effective. Use it to encourage a more centered viewpoint in life.

Healing with Tree Agate

Healers use tree agate to align and correct anything with branches (such as blood vessels, nerves, skeletal disorders). Place it on a point of pain for relief.

The title of these weeks.... Being in the world but not of the world.

I've been challenged through the Simple Abundance journey to turn away from the world for a bit.  Not to read or watch or listen to the news.   Not to see the bad in the world..every day.  But to go within and focus on Light.  Focus on Family.   Focus on self.

So this is the projection toward the ninth week of 2015.

"Think of the steady, reassuring rhythm of the natural world - the ebb and flow of the tides, the recurring cycle of the four seasons, the monthly phases of the moon, and the daily progression from day to night.  Rhythm needs to be the cornerstone in our personal world as well."
-Sarah ban Breathnach

I have made my world and it is a much better world than I ever saw outside.
-Louise Nevelson

I light candles on my altar for those who I wish to say a special prayer for.  So many candles, so many prayers.    I always remember to light candles to give thanks as well.  To God.  To the angels, the spirit guides.  To those I love who have crossed over.   And every day, I write the five gratitude's that I have for that day.   Truly, the one thing this does is it has opened my eyes, yet again to how blessed I am.  Gratitude.   It is so very important.

Week Six - It Was a Very Good Year....

Week six of 2015.

Most of my days right now are about work -- and lots of it.  Our dealership does exceedingly well during tax refund season.....and the continual line of customers have kept us moving.....and caused us to get behind in the daily stuff we have to do

so it's always busy.  Always piles of stuff to do.  Always phones ringing.

And the great family I work for -- and the awesome co workers I have....

we are always smiling.  Laughing.  Working so well together.

Yep, love the place I work and am thankful for it.

Gonna be working every Saturday for awhile too.

Great Finds this week...

Several years ago, one of my daughters introduced me to this awesome community of people who love to get mail - and love to get a little crafty and send and receive some awesome things and make some wonderful new friends.

Yesterday, I had a rough day.  Wasn't feeling very well.  Tired.  Headache.  A little stressed from the day and when I came home I was ready to just go to sleep.

But the mailperson had left me a package from a awesome new friend I have made on swap-bot.

It was such a lift to my spirits and brought many smiles as I unpacked all the things she had placed inside.  Crafting stuff, a beautiful stuffed tiger, dishtowel set.....and to make it even more special, she had decorated the box on the outside - mostly with things that meant a lot to me.

So if you like getting snail mail.... if you love to write letters and maybe send and receive fun little or big packages that will bring and send smiles.... and make some new wonderful friends, check out swap bot.

I chose 2 photos that I shared this week to share with you all.

Both of these little beauties are my granddaughters.

They represent...

Poetry - Past Present and Future

Freedom Independence Joy Happiness

picking up her bag and reaching for the door
listening to the inner voice telling her to leave now
not to look back, not to regret
she spent all of her young years in this place
it was time to move on
to leave the place and the man that had caused her so much misery and pain
to breathe air filled with freedom
joy and happiness
she deserved these things, she always had
they had always been there waiting
waiting patiently for her to reach for them
to embrace them
to take them in her heart and never let them go
and now
she had them
she was running toward them
and she would never do without them again.

The song playing is called
It was a Very Good Year.

I love to hear Frank Sinatra sing this song.

Here's a Video...with a great picture tribute to Frank.

And this made me smile this week.... a very good friend shared this with me...and it fits me perfect!!  So many years of work, babies, suppers, grocery stores, dinner, diapers, school, school And even now, when things have settled down a shopping is still such a chore and Pizza it is!!!

My meditation stone this week was the

Celestite (celestine)

Celestite Crystals aid you to contact your guardian angels. These crystals are a soft blue color and have a high vibration, that is excellent to use in meditation. Their energy is both calming and uplifting, and will aid contact with angels, and help to stimulate the birth of psychic gifts.
The soft blue color of these stones is delightful... and they are beautiful both physically and spiritually. Their lovely energy is immediately apparent when you pick one up

For week six of 2015

I leave you with this...... close your eyes.  Come sit with me anytime.

See you next week :-)

Week Five - Love Story

With a title like this blog has......this could be a scary post....

But it's not gonna be.

It really is what makes the world go round....

But there's all kinds of love and each has its season and its time.

Life can be about understanding the season and the time.

Some has past, some is now, some is to come and some always will be.

There is no need to wish for just one kind of love.  Especially if you have been lucky enough to have it this go round...

To have any love in your life

is our greatest blessing, I believe.

Those who know me, know that I am not of one particular religion and I have found God outside of religion.  I'm not against religion.  It's just not for me.

Love can bring incredible joy.  Indescribable sadness.  Wonderful awareness and gut wrenching denial.

But the trick is... when pain or sorrow come...

get through it and look around your life.

Hold onto the love that is there.

Love given to and received from your family, your friends, a stranger....

that love will be your anchor.

The greatest words I have ever read on the subject are as follows....

1 Corinthians 13

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecyand can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror;then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

For the rest of this Fifth Week of 2015....and always

I wish you Love.
