Hi everyone!
Was a slow week with lots to be grateful for.
Simple things. Slow things.
The most important things.
This time of year, I go to work in the dark Monday through Friday and its dark by the time I return. I burn candles in the evenings and have strands of lights throughout the house. YouTube channels on TV and the coziness of home that I have made here in this place,
Even the laundry room/pantry is kinda cozy too.
In Crochet this past week, I finished the crochet part of the long pink dress for my little granddaughters dolls. Just have to weave in the ends and add the buttons to the back.
I started the bakers outfit. It is a absolutely adorable pattern. There is a chefs hat, an apron, some oven mitts, a mixing bowl, a cake with a candle and a pie.
I am having a great time making the doll clothes. I'm just sayin!!
One of my daughters has requested the cutest Bow shaped purse. I have the pattern, now I have to get the hot pink yarn.
Saturday, I took the trash to the dump. Cleaned out the fridge first. It was pouring rain most of the day. I stopped at the grocery on the way home and that was my only outing over the weekend.
As a gift, my little granddaughter got a crafting kit that is a wooden tea set. The idea is to paint it herself.
When I was a child, my dear grandmother taught me the love of hot tea. Back then, it was half tea, a little sugar and half milk. I loved those moments with her and they still are some favorite memories.
Olivia and I share that. We make tea and its a true ritual. Cups and saucers. Sugar bowl and matching cream pitcher. A teapot. Hers is about half tea, a bit of sugar and then half milk.
She was very excited to paint this tea set. When we opened it, some of the paint that it came with was dried up. So she made do with the four colors that were left.
Later in the day, I was looking for something in the closet of the spare room and happened upon the tote with all my acrylic paints and brushes. So we will continue this project next time that she is here. She's so excited to be able to use all the different brushes and colors.
Here's what she got done today with the few colors she had... and then of course I had to try some "tea" from her wooden teapot.
Today, the rain stopped but it became very windy. I have some cardboard to make a little fire outback in my fire ring, but today was not the day for that.
So there was a whistling tea kettle for some hot chocolate -- with whipped cream -- and some boiled eggs for egg salad for lunches next week.
Cheers Y'all!!!!
Thank you for stopping by~~
I hope that you each have a wonderful week.
I am grateful for every moment - and they all matter.
I saw something that said...
When we think of days as another day... things can shift when we think of them as one less day.
At first, I thought that was kinda depressing.
But then I realized that it was a reminder.
