The month of summer and the beginning of harvest. The sunlight is a little stronger, the shadows a little longer.

This weekend I decided to go thrifting on Saturday. I'm always wanting to add to my record album collection for my Victrola. It has a CD player and a Cassette player built in.
I had no idea the thrift store had cassettes too.
So I bought a few records, a couple of CD's and three Cassettes.
Have really enjoyed the music this weekend.
Sure, I can stream all the music that I want on YouTube. And I love the ability to do that. But popping that cassette in did something to my soul.

As a teenager, I loved Disco. Came across this album at one of the thrift stores. I had this same album as a teenager.

At the Rescue Mission thrift, when I walked in the door there were signs all over that said in celebration of Christmas in July -- all Christmas stuff was 75% off.
And there was ALOT of it.
I picked up a couple of ornaments, some Christmas pictures, some little bits and bobs and I got two pieces for my Christmas Village. I have built it almost entirely on thrifted pieces that I come across. This time I got a post office and a general store. For way less than two dollars each and they were still in their boxes.
After I forced myself to exit the Christmas stuff... geesh, I sure had a good time looking at it all....

I saw lots of really cool stuff. I didn't buy it, but this teapot looked like Alladins lamp.
Stopped at Dollar General on the way home for a few items and guess what is now filling the shelves.....
Love fall, but I'm not ready to give up summer yet!
Even tho I had a great time at "Christmas in July" hahahaha

Picked up some wax melts - this one smells divine.
Just sayin
Before I moved this last time, I bought a grill from Amazon. It arrived in a box of course and would need to be put together.
Then I broke my ankle.
Then I moved.
And since I've been getting stuff put away and sorted through.
Today, I decided to put this doggone grill together.
Problem was, I've never been real good and putting things together.
So I dragged the box from the hallway into the living room, opened it. Looked at the directions which were practically useless for me.
And two and a half hours later, with lots of struggling putting in the warming tray in the top -- it is finished!
I did it!
First time ever :-)

Did some shopping for Sydney on Saturday. He needed new food and some treats.
I've told you all before, he was my grandmothers bird and he is now 31 years old.
He's such a joy to me to have around. He still whistles and loves to be talked to.
That's about it for my weekend and this past week.
I've been journaling every day and being very intentional with that and with prayer time.
Also started TaiChi classes (at home version)
I'm mostly wanting the balance it will give to me.
